I understand that the incorrect surface was put on the road, hence the problems. This should have been rectified immediately in the interest of safety.

So dangerous - travel it each weekday- nearly been cleaned up by car spinning in front of me, Appalled at being overtaken through this stretch. If it can't be repaired immediately put speed cameras up & big warning signs. There will be a very serious accident soon.

I see accidents regularly on this stretch - and don't feel safe myself, even though I drive slowly and carefully on this road. The surface is clearly dangerous!

we have had so many accidents on this road its time something was done sooner rather than later when someone is badly hurt.

I have skidded on that dangerous part of the road before it was common knowledge how dangerous it was, i thought i had got a flat so stopped at closes garage only for them to tell me that 3 people that week had done the same. The road up Black Horse is incredible its like driving on a river bed. Please sort something out

We stopped last week for a fella who had spun twice and ended up on the grass verge. His wheels were wrecked and he was pretty shaken up. He's travalled all the way from Pembrokeshire to come to Sedbergh and crashes 5 miles from his destination due to that terrible stretch of road. It is a disgrace, and even the most careful of drivers are getting caught out by the slippery surface. It needs doing NOW!

It,s a disgrace. Used by so many because it is our Main Road. If it was in The Lake District it would have been done by now. Sedbergh people pay their taxes just the same as anywhere else, get very little for it.

This is a very dangerous stretch of road as the surface looks fine so many people ignore the 20mph restriction

The machinery appears to be further on the road at the other side of the motorway junction so could be brought through to do this stretch now. Those responsible for laying the wrong type of Tarmac should get it sorted quickly before it costs any lives

Resurfacing is only part of the answer, culverts and drains need repaired to stop further water running across the road, freezing and causing more damage
