Due to cabaret laws, high rent, low space and the loss of lovely historical ballrooms like the Savoy & Renaissance, NYC continues to lose spaces where regular folks can come together and commune through social dance. Social dancing from salsa to Lindy hop to the hustle is part of New York's living heritage. It's also an everyday example of lifelong fitness and culture that all New Yorkers can enjoy--where art, health, and community come together. This is in keeping with the values of the 92nd St Y. Please keep these social dance events going and preserve the 92Y as a location that welcomes everyday dancers and makes their nights out feel special.

In addition to social dancing at the 92Y, I have also performed as part of performance groups and as half of a Pro/Am duo. Where else will I find such a knowledgeable and enthusiastic audience. For the performers as well as the dancers, keep the social dances going at the 92Y!

Lori Brizzi's hustle parties are amazing. The dance floor is great. Please continue to support the NYC hustle community by offering space for hustle dancers to have fun, meet others, and build skills.

I love dancing and I especially love dancing at the "92Y". The wood floor is huge and the room is beautiful. I have made lots of new friends there and always have fun. Please, please, in the spirit of community, continue to hold the Social Dances so that everyone can enjoy!!

Replace social dancing for ballroom??? Not everybody wants to dance competitively or look like a drama queen. There are many of us who likes to go to the roots of dancing for fun and enjoyment. Shame on you!

i have been swing dancing for 15yrs strong and I don't know how my life would've been if I didn't take up the dance. It has force me to be confident in myself on an everyday basis. Closing down a ballroom is idiotic, and it hurts a community and city, then helps. Dancing isn't for he elite and intitled. It's for everyone, beginner to advanced b

This is wrong on so many levels. They are only few events leftbin nyc for soical swing dancing where its about dancing and not showing off and Myrnas ensures that people of all ages, bqckground and dance skills come out to dance. 92Y shame on you for catering to privileged ones and not normal folks of NYC.
Keep alive this dance ,
