The safety of my children getting to school is just as important as their safety at to school.

Please make these changes as soon as possible--I agree with Theresa Lynch--let us all make sure we STOP at the STOP signs too -- be safe out there :)

We're new to the neighborhood and I drive my 1st grader to and from Summit, because I just cringe at the idea of walking with my rambunctious four year old across this intersection.

Can we add flashing stop signs or something for the whole neighborhood too? Way too many people think they are optional!

I agree that something needs to be done at this cross walk but I have seen not only drivers disregard walkers but as a driver have had kids run across the walk way in front of my car. I think that these Safety measures would be good and need to be implemented regardless. However, a better option might be to build an elevated cross walk across 8 mile. This would take the walkers completely out of the follow of traffic.

As a parent with children in this school I have witnessed people that have no do regard for those providing safe crossing for those walking to and from school. Please take this petition with safety for all in mind. Thank you.

This is a major safety issue for our children I am perplexed why this hasn't been done sooner.

I fill in as crossing guard and I have almost been hit numerous time. They do not respect the law of the pedestrian has the right away.

Twp and Sherriff Dept are aware of this concern. I have been in discussions with them. They have been receptive and are working on some solutions. Remember this is a county road and that has another potential hurdle.

I live near the intersection and see cars run the light every day. The accident this week was one driveway away from hitting my 9 year old neighbor who was riding his bike on the side walk.

I grew up on Linderwood ln in the same neighborhood. The intersection of North Port and 8 mile definitely needs safety improvements.

Yes. This makes sense and just this past week there was a serious accident real close to the intersection.

It is very concerning to watch cars go ahead and turn right on red right in front of a group of kids that are about to cross after school. Cars totally ignore the crossing guard sometimes. We've even seem cars just fly right through the intersection when the light is red. It is so worrisome that it could be just a matter of time before one of the kids get hit. Thanks for considering
