English translation by Adesh Bansode Date : 28.03.2017 To, Chief Minister Kerala, Trivandrum, Sub : For withdrawal of affidavit filed by your government in comrade Arikkad Varghese’s compensation case. Dear Sir We undersigned are urging you to withdraw the affidavit filed by home department of Kerala in Kerala High Court. This affidavit was submitted in response to a petition filed by Comrade Arikkad Varghese’s relatives for seeking compensation for his murder. In this affidavit it was shockingly claimed that comrade Varghese was involved in murders and dacoity and he was a hardcore criminal. Hence the home ministry has opposed to grant the compensation to the family of the slain comrade. The above mentioned submission is contradictory to the findings of CBI special court which has convicted the then Thalassery Dy SP K Lakshmana and DIG P Vijayan. We protest against the submission made in the said affidavit and we urge your government to withdraw the said affidavit.
