We must come up with creative ideas and be preventative versus reactive in the future. Current owners CAN protect their homes and land before putting on the market. Anyone with an historical home should consider this, or else we will lose all our gems!

If you don't like this beautiful historic house, BUY ANOTHER HOUSE and leave this one be.

Hobby Horse Farm is a genuine treasure. I know it well from when a friend lived in it in the 1990's. The Town of Greenwich and its residents should NOT allow this beautiful piece of both our history and current landscape to be destroyed. Aside from that, the house is not only totally livable as is, but a home that anyone would be proud and happy to call their own. It exudes comfort, charm, and elegance on the inside as well as stately beauty and presence on the outside. Whatever the new current owners have planned could never improve on what already exists, and certainly could not take the place of Hobby Horse Farm, which could stand for another 176 years and, with appropriate ongoing normal care, still be a wonderful, distinctive home, and an even more treasured piece of our history and landscape.

I grew up in Greenwich and went on to live on Nantucket, where there is barely a house left standing. It is very easy to rip the life out of a town...

Appalling what the likes of them are doing/have done to the fabric of the town. Historic homes of this era are among the most beautiful in style, materials and craftsmanship. Once demolished, a piece of history is lost forever. We certainly don't need yet another stone facade McMansion with oversize chimneys and faux iron gates out front.

Greenwich is losing its connection with its storied history, one local landmark at a time. It is so much more than just an upscale enclave, but it's allowing itself to be transformed into just that, stripped of character and sublime elegance.

I am a born and raised in Greenwich individual. it remains home for my parents. I do not condone the demolition of any of the many landmark estates. unconscionable.

Demolishing this beautiful historic house would be a travesty. Please save it for generations to come.

This house and many, many other homes in Greenwich should be in the National Registry of Historical Places. That could save classic Greenwich homes and buildings from tear downs. It worked for Wrigley Field⚾️
