50th anniversary of USF Lacrosse

The University of South Florida Lacrosse program was founded in 1971, and even though it started with two passionate young players, playing in the parking lots, couple years later, we would be playing big school like Maryland & Air Force, plus winning a couple championship games along the way, it grew into something many players would come through and keep as a part of their USF college experience. Over the past many years our program has struggled, yes we cannot deny the fact, we had our ups and downs, but we have accomplished so much. Even with limited funding, equipment and half the player ratio to most MCLA teams, we have grown to the best of our abilities. We want to give Thanks not only to USF for the many years providing us with resources, but also to all our loyal supporters.Even thou we are not a varsity sport, we take pride when we hit the field, wearing our Green and Gold, Thanks again.Lacrosse is not only the fastest game on two feet, but also the fastest growing sport in the country, with Florida being one, of the top states in growth of lacrosse. Each year Florida loses great talented Division 1 athletes due to the lack of D1 programs in Florida, with two being Jacksonville ( Men's + Women's) and Florida ( Women's ).Every year UnderArmour hosts the UnderArmour All-America Lacrosse, Which displays the best seniors in the country, with Florida averaging 4 All-Americans every year, compared to the other 44 states that produce none.2015 marked the first year that the west took home a Nation Championship home in NCAA lacrosse history, imagine USF taking home a conference title or even a NCAA Championships , for the South. USF has all the elements to attract not only the best D1 lacrosse athletes, but also Lacrosse Fans, enough to fill the a stadium, expect one thing D1 lacrosse.USF lacrosse program is approaching its 50th anniversary in 2021, with the south producing many great lacrosse athletes, it would be a great honor and privilege if the University of South Florida welcomed, the lacrosse program as a part of the 17 other Athletic teams at USF.
