Everything is lockdown we can’t work so we can’t rearm if we can’t earn we are not been able to pay the fee so pls do this

As the FIDM Student Community, it is important for us to stick together and vocalize our concerns as representatives of the institute as a whole. I agree with the fact that our tuition should be discounted by 50% but just note that all majors do not pay the same amount in tuition throughout all campus locations. Therefore, a fixed amount for the reduction in cost is not the most logical suggestion, but a discounted percentage would be. For example, I am a Graphic Design major at the FIDM San Francisco location and for my first First Year alone, my total course costs sums up to $35,293. In conclusion, I 110% push for the notion of putting this petition in affect but let’s not neglect the fact that we cannot ask for a fixed amount of money reduced if we want what’s fair for all our students. Keep in mind that not all FIDM students are currently enrolled as an Undergraduate and that price also differs for both International and Graduate students.

I’m for this and I signed it. I feel all the concerns and I am glad an other student sent me this, we should get what we are paying for. However I have to say though, it doesn’t cost 32k per quarter, that’s the yearly cost.

Part of our FIDM tuition goes towards accessing on campus recourses. A lot of majors that need the sewing room come into mind, but Vcomm will also suffer majorly from this. Most classes require you to use a program called “Sketchup” which is only available on FIDM campus because it is too expensive for them to purchase for every student. The solution they give “Sketchup Make”, aka the free version, does not give the same portfolio quality result. It is very unfair to try and have students pay full amounts when taking away important hand on resources that are arguably needed for our education. FIDM can afford one quarter at a discounted rate.

These kids deserve on campus classes that’s why there tuition is higher than average. FIDM has the funds to test all students if need be, there are drive up testing points for heavens sake!! Cut down classes do whatever it takes to get these hard working students the education they strive for!!
