On Thursday March 29, 2018 43-year old Crystal Mason was sentenced to a 5 year prison term which has sparked a mild uproar across America. After recently been released from federal prison for a 2012 tax fraud conviction, Mason finds herself going back to the big house for voting while on probation without knowing that she couldn't vote. There was one part of this story that stood out to me and that was that her vote never counted because it would be labeled as a provisional vote, which is what started the investigation. After reading several stories about this case everything on Mason's end was truthful and handled just like any other person would have handled it. Wouldn't you say 5 years just a bit harsh? I honestly can understand punishing a person but couldn't there have been community service hours to complete or additional time on probation?

This was an injustice and needs too be overturned and made right. This woman is not a danger to society. Her judge obviously was!!

This is outrageous. Another example of injustice in the land of the free. And another racist ruling.
This ruling is nothing short of outrageous. Ms. Mason should be unequivocally acquitted. It is the presiding judge who should serve a five year sentence
Russ Casey is told to be good and Chrystal Mason is sent back to prison for voting. America really needs to stop the prison system from being a company! And they need to give back the right to vote to a lot of people found guilty because the criminal system in USA is corrupt and/or racist!
