I went to school with Sean and found the idea of him murdering anyone, especially a police officer, hard to reconcile. In reading the article at http://www.dotnews.com/2014/hearings-resume-ellis-bid-fourth-trial it appears that he does deserve a new, fair trial. I hope that more people will sign this petition and that he will be given the opportunity to clear his name.

Not long after Sean was tried and jailed I met his mother, Mary and Sean's sister and spent some time with them. I know that there were rumors that the police involved not only cobbled together evidence to convict Sean unjustly but also may have had reasons to cover for the actual shooter. I do not know Sean but my acquaintance with his family has convinced me that Sean may well be innocent of the crime that's had him in prison for 20 years and that his family certainly needs an impartial review of his case. The undoubted situation is that Sean's trial in the 1990s was not fair and impartial and that, in itself, casts doubt in his conviction. I urge anyone to sign this petition that seeks only to rectify the injustice of his earlier trial.

We are hopeful that our petition numbers will continue to increase. As of today, Rosemary Scapicchio, Sean's attorney is scheduled to submit her closing written arguement by February 11, 2015. More updates are soon to come (God willing).
Please email our petition to all of your family, friends, and colleagues. Please encourage them to do so as well. Thank you all for stating the obvious and recognizing that JUSTICE was not served.

absolutely awful what they put Sean through. He deserves his right to appeal for a fair trial with the new known evidence.

When you look at the facts in this case, understand the police officers who were involved and what they were doing outside of their jobs, I don't think Sean Ellis was given a fair and impartial trial.
