My cause is simple, i wish to do nothing more than help america. It is a common fact that people who are well rested work better and are more passive threw the day. what i am petitioning we do is move to a four day work week, and school week, so that the people are more rested and helpful and willing to learn. it would give everyone a larger weekend to spend with their family or doing thing around their homes that may need to be done. It would also cut down on the consumption of gas cutting down the cost and the greenhouse gasses going into the world causing the greenhouse effect. A few more reasons are road congestion think about rush hour. Now think about it with 1/5 of the cars off the road, it would make rush hour a lot less frustrating. Also there would be a cut down in absenteeism because people would have more time for them selves. i also believe it would help productivity . Take this for example In 1930 famed cereal maker W.K. Kellog had this to say about his decision to decrease his companies work week from 40 to 30 hours. The efficiency and morale of our employees is so increased, the accident and insurance rates are so improved, and the unit cost of production is so lowered that we can afford to pay as much for six hours as we formerly paid for eight.
I have been spending my evenings researching the history of shorter work weeks to prepare for upcoming conversations with local leadership. Hearing how much this would help families manage their daily stress confirms that change is long overdue.

Seeing this momentum grow reminds me of how exhausted my family felt every Sunday night knowing the grind was starting all over again. It feels incredible to know so many of you see the same potential for a balanced life that I do.

Finally some common sense. My commute is killing me and I never get to see my kids during the week. This would change everything.

LITERALLY EVERYONE WANTS THIS. The 5 day grind is outdated and useless. we get way more done when we arent exhausted all the time.
