Everyone knows that Pierce is a 3 time state champ...and has enough class and respect for himself and this sport to never perform anything that he knows is illegal and that may hurt someone.

Traumatic brain injuries come in many ways. This could definitely cause serious injury if not regulated for safety.

This is more than just a state title. This is about the athletes' safety, the integrity of the sport and the state title, and the responsibility of the players, coaches, and refs.

Seems if a rule is written in should be enforced. Clearly hard to sweep a foot which isn't there.

Both Athletes could have been injured from that move. It needs to be addressed Not Awarded with a state title. Other wrestlers see that he got away with it and won they will try to do it also.

The risk of serious or permanent injury to one or both participants is disgraceful! To think that this was rewarded instead if penalized is unbelievable!!! The officials glorified the move and must have consequences before more wrestlers use the move and end up paralyzed or worse.

Rules are made to be followed during sports for a reason and should not be neglected especially when the rule is made for a participant's safety! I am so glad that the guys were not badly injured!

This most DEFINATELY should be reversed and the fact that those refs didn't know the rule is amazing in a state title match. It is a miracle that both if the wrestlers weren't seriously injured or paralyzed, especially the young man from Minico that stated afterwards that he knew it was illegal but hoped they let it go... Which they did..embarrassing!! The young man from mtn home handled it with the most class...what an amazing athlete...

Safety should always be 1st &upmost! I would not want to win anything if I had to cheat, or hope the refs weren't too sharp!
