If the government was serious about reducing smog. The 407 would be free and traffic congestion cut in half. Yet they sign a 99 year contract. Complete stupidity.

If this highway was free, the whole city would be able to start moving again. We are a province of sheep for putting up with this. Why should only the elite and big business be aloud to use a road in our province? Didn't the province use our tax dollars to obtain the land to build this highway? How much money is wasted sitting in traffic on the 401? It should be free for anyone to use. We stand up proudly to demand equality over racial or sexual orientation issues but just seem to accept the inequality in this. Why?
We are proudly welcoming more people into our province but not making it any easier for us to drive around it. Why?

The toll rates are out of control. $20 for a single trip WITH a transponder! Privatising this was a horrible idea!

I want this criminal activity to stop, and we Ontarians take back what is rightfully ours, the 407 and reduce the outrageous costs to more reasonable rates, once and for all.

$61.70 in tolls after a long weekend in Markham for a short family vacation. Last trip for us, plenty of other tourist places without hidden fees to drive to a restaurant of mall!

I never use this highway and am disgusted at how many do. My wife said if everyone stopped using it for just a few weeks we could bankrupt the owners and buy it back.Our city could easily expand it's subway with 407 income
