To: President Ed Hill I believe that the introduction of CW/CE classifications will destroy the unity of our membership by creating a multiple tier wage structure and eventually drive out the JIW as a practical classification apart from supervision. I am against reforming our membership to encourage lower skill levels and lower standards of education. Most of all I am against using low wage workers to compete against the legacy our forebearers worked and sacrificed for to create this great trade union. I am also strongly opposed to the efforts of our International Office in Washington D.C. to impose upon our Local Unions this sweeping approach to alter their working agreements and negotiating positions with their regional and national contractor associations to get these classifications embedded into our contracts.
