Hon. Leona Dombrowski, MPP 81 Millennium Parkway, Unit 3 Belleville, ON K8N 5B2 ldombrowsky.mpp.co@liberal.ola.org We the undersigned believe that the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board has failed to address the need of a third trustee in Clarington to address representation of both its taxpayers and the needs of its students. That we concur with the both our current Trustees Cooke and Abraham motions rejected by the Board: The Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board write a letter to the Ministry of Education requesting a review of Regulation 412 of the Education Act with the intent changing the Act to allow for consideration of student population while making decisions regarding trustee distribution. The Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board write a letter to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing requesting the consideration that an independent body set future election boundaries within a school board with regard to trustee representation. If school boards are to be funded by student enrollment then student enrollment should be considered part of the equation of Trustee representation. Clarington currently has one third of the student population compared to Peterborough that has five trustees for approximately the same number of students. We strongly urge you to intervene and correct this issue, Sincerely Concern Citizens of Clarington Please feel free to copy and paste this letter to mail or email Minister Dombrowski, or John O’Toole (john.otooleco@pc.ola.org). Also please forward this link to as many people you can that you feel would be interested.
