Unfortunately, many Americans are unaware of the human trafficking taking place within the United States even when it is blatantly outside President Obama's doorstep. These women, who are forced to sell their bodies on the streets of DC around 3 in the morning, are notoriously known as the"3am girls". Horrifically, not even minors are excluded from this form of slavery. Congress and President Obama have not addressed this child prostitution yet, and because of that it's been reported from NSVRC that, "American law enforcement agencies are being accused of not doing enough to combat the problem of child prostitution." Sima Kotecha from NSVRC continues to write, “The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) in the United States estimates that between 100,000 and 300,000 American children are forced into prostitution every year - sometimes through being kidnapped near their homes.” Safe houses have been formed such as http://www.courtneyshouse.org/ and http://fairgirls.org/; however, these safe houses came to be from the help of women who once were 3am girls.

Speak up for your fellow Americans. If we can't get ourselves together as a nation, than how can we tell another nation what is right? By signing this petition, we are one more step closer to getting the President to look outside his bedroom window to see what America has become.
