We, the undersigned, believe that the most important unmet needs for the current residents of the Town of Darien are (i) a new Senior/Community Center & (ii) market-rate 2/3 bedroom condominiums for those choosing to downsize. Further, that 35 Leroy Ave (the old library site) is a $4.2 million crown jewel asset which is a perfect site to meet either of the above needs and that, especially in light of the current financial crisis, a comprehensive study be conducted to determine (a)viability and (b)which of the above uses is most appropriate on that vacant site.
