I have worked every day since I way 15 years old to build the life I have started with my fiancee. for several years i worked security at the salvation army center of hope and am very familiar with what the programs want vs what the reality is. this safe site will be anything but especially to the quite hard working neighbors. in Sept we purchased our first house and are about to start a family just to find out that they plan on putting this kind of a crime magnet IN MY BACK YARD LITERALLY!. I do not agree with its location this is a beautiful quiet neighborhood full of families. there are far better locations with less community impact and i will fight this in every way possible to ensure the security and safety of my new community.

As a 45 year resident of Sylvan St. I have seen it all and agree in principle that myriad concerns are valid. One item has not been broached, that being the LFP article which mentions the future use of the property. Quote “The house is on a large property – 0.6 hectares – that’s a prime lot to be turned into affordable housing down the line, Cooper said. The closing date for the deal to buy the land is next month. Council approved the $1.05 million pricetag last week after it was reported out of a session behind closed doors”.
The worst of the two evils will be affordable housing on a cul-de-sac. We can imagine row housing or two or more stories being built. “Stabilization space” would be the better choice since control of the users will be exercised. They would be delivered, treated, and then taken elsewhere. Their stay will be short with minimal recidivism, it will not be a residential facility. I know which to choose in the short term.

The city of London planning is astounding. Putting this facility in this location is makes no sense for access to city resources and it will negatively affect the housing around and community in which it is proposed.

Old South - There is no need for a place like this in this area. This area is booming with young and old families who feel safe. This will change everything!

I don’t want people who use drugs in my neighbourhood because it could be dangerous.

We believe that there is a need to support the growing homeless population in London but do not believe that this is the spot to do it. We have a son who walks by this street daily to go to and from school and feel that his safety, and the safety of all children in the area is of most importance.

I live at 348 Sylvan Street. I completely agree that this is not the ideal place. I want my family to feel safe. It hasn't even happened yet and I have already had discussions with my children (my daughter especially) about her safety and mine as well as my son's.

Neighbourhoods are changing and not necessarily for the better. I agree there are people in need of help but why do our young children have to witness situations like this. I agree a quiet residential cul de sac is not the appropriate location for a temporary shelter.

A residential neighbourhood is no place for this facility. There is definitely a need, and there are plenty of spaces away from communities raising families that could be used for this purpose. I strongly oppose to the proposed use of this space.

It’s outrageous you would even consider to put such a place in a residential area, so close to schools. Disgusting
