A quiet and historically safe residential area with lots of families and young children is no place for such a shelter.

Although I feel that a stabilization space is an amazing idea and definitely needed in our growing city, I don’t think a small residential street hidden from view and further from other necessary social services is the optimal location. It is also unfair to the extremely close neighbours that have purchased a home (not renters as it’s much easier to relocate) as they have their life’s earnings in their family home and were not aware of this land use. The close neighbours should have much more weight in their opinions on this matter. I don’t live close to this location so my opinion is fairly irrelevant, but as an outsider I feel that a much better location should be chosen, and fast as it’s a much needed and exceptional idea.

This site is completely inappropriate for something like this. It’s a residential area where children walk to school etc. Not to mention the people on this street have already had to deal with the troubles of a group home - give them a break! Take a drive behind the centre of Hope and see all the tents/garbage - it will be 10 times worse here!

Residents of Old South since 1971. This is NOT the neighborhood for this type of shelter. This needs to be stopped.
