The new management, Equity, has had some trouble with the coffee maker. Instead of fixing the machine on the 20th floor they told me today that they were opting to get rid of it altogether. They said they are considering installing a simple machine on the 1st floor. I think we pay enough rent money collectively in this building to keep a functioning coffee machine on 20.

Equity thinks they can charge us premium rent and strip away basic amenities without a fight. They are not hiding the machine because of repairs but because they think we are too exhausted to push back against their cheap tactics.

Thanks Max! First they don't open the door for us, second they don't repair the TVs and now they take away the coffee machine.. Not impressed, Equity.

The coffee machine is an important part of many peoples' morning routines and provides a great option for those who prefer to remain sober on summer weekend nights. The removal of this amenity would be a major downgrade to the communal areas in the building.

I've always enjoyed being able to run up to grab a cup of really good coffee during the day. I would like to see this amenity continue for everyone

Why do I live here rather than some other place in seaport? Free hot chocolate on the 20th floor. True story. I don't pay 4k a month for an average apartment experience.

Crazy that they'd do something like this. Saving a few grand a year after spending $130m to buy the building doesn't make sense.

We definitely pay enough money and should be able to continue enjoying that coffee machine. That is one of the perks of living at a full service building like this. All of the competitors have one.

What recourse do we have? What would it take to get a new management company with ACTUAL experience managing a LEED Certified/Luxury Building?

Take my life, but do not take my coffee.
