30mph speed limit outside Sunrise Nursery

I used to cycle along this stretch from Sunrise to KBS with my daughter in a trailer behind my bike. It was horrendous. Please consider changing the limit.

Good idea, very difficult junction to maneuver out of.

This is a very fast road, there is a 30mph speed limit beyond the nursery into the village but the volume of traffic and the big lorries travelling along this road makes it extreemly dangerous into the village and by the su rise nursery. A 20mph speed limit and speed humps beyond the business park towards the village and through the village would assist in keeping our village safe. Please listen to our petition.

Wholeheartedly agree with this. The speed limit along here is much to fast both for the nursery, pedestrians and cyclists. I have 2 children (12 & 10) and there is a section of pavement that is incredibly narrow to the point that we do not allow our children to cycle as it is too dangerous, and even just walking through that part is potentially dangerous. We would love to see the speed limit reduced and road hardware should also be added at this pinch point so that there really is a safe path between the cricket ground and the village.

Whole heartedly support this petition. I live in the new housing estate byvthe sports field. The village has extended past the 30 mph and the road speed should be adjusted. Walking to co-op along the A415 is horrendous. Every single vehicle triggers the automated speed sign. Every single vehicle. A pedestrian crossing by the nursery would also enable village people to walk their children to and from the nursery rather than having to drive... a key thing in trying to reduce emissions in todays world.

I support the action to reduce the speed limit of this road to 30mph, the entrance/exit to the nursery is a very dangerous place to manoeuvre. I live on the estate by the cricket ground and often walk along the gravel path into the village and cars go so fast along that part of the road. I would suggest lowering the speed limit all the way along that road to the business estate turn off to allow safer crossing of pedestrians to the bus stop, nursery and digging lane for access to fyfield.

Too many accidents by the entrance, could easily be avoided! Please listen to the community, our children as well as ourselves are at risk when using the facilities at Sunrise.

We fully support this petition. As parents of a child at the nursery we have witnessed vehicles travelling way too fast on this road on countless occasions. The road is relatively straight and easily allows vehicles to pick up speed, therefore something desperately needs to be put in place to prevent this from happening. Most roads outside schools are a 20/30 mph limit and I do not understand why nurseries are not included in this rule. It would be great if we could reduce the risk to all nursery attendees asap and before a fatality occurs and the late afternoons get dark.

I travel down this road everyday and I witness many cars speeding out of the village and into the village . The area near the co op of the corner is a real worry for myself as it is an accident waiting to happen . Cars travelling in to the village do not slow down as they pass the 30 miles per hour sign and speed around the corner towards the co-op and roundabout . If the speed limit was changed this would hopefully make drivers slow down sooner. Placing a flashing speed sign going into the village from this direction.m would be a great asset as well.

I was at the scene for the nursery when it accident happened. It’s a dangerous turn and junction so hopefully the speed reductions will reduce the likelihood of a serious accident again.

The speed limit is unsafe and unsuitable and I fully support this petition to lower the speed limit down for everyone's safety.

This is such a bad round to try and get out onto when leaving nursery. Especially when I have both my children in the car. Something really needs to be done about it and this is the the way forward.

This is a complete no-brainer to extend the 30mph limit from the edge of the village to the nursery. You wouldn't have a 50mph limit outside of a school, so why not follow the same approach with even younger children? Furthermore, the junction has poor visibility, so all the more reason to apply common sense and lower the speed limit.

Please reduce the speed limit for our children’s and everyone else’s safety.

The road is too fast to keep at 60mph so close to the village, directly outside the nursery, and particularly as a new housing estate has been put in just down the road too.
