30mph speed limit outside Sunrise Nursery

It is appalling how so many drivers in this area, particularly of HGVs, grab lorries, concrete wagons and other commercial and private COMPLETELY ignore the speed limit. And with no enforcement action ever taken this will continue to get worse. How come there is a regular speed trap van in Stanton Harcourt but never one in Kingston Bagpuize.

It is disgraceful how fast drivers travel on this section of road - especially those leaving the Hind's Head roundabout heading towards Marcham. Few observe the speed limit and most are travelling at least 50mph by the time they get to the Sunrise Nursery entrance. Those coming from Marcham are already doing this speed.

My children went to Sunrise and it was always nerve wracking pulling out of the access with the speed and volume of traffic. This would be much overdue.

Slowing down means there’s a chance if a child was involved in an accident.... faster the car the less chance if survival

With the village getting bigger the speed limit needs to be lowered further out of the village.

A 30mph sign should also be displayed at the village ‘gate’ as opposed to so much further down the road!!

Having had a few near misses outside the nursery, we totally support this.

This should have been done years ago. This stretch of road needs to be made safer for the nursery children, their guardians and the staff

This is not the only very dangerous point along this road. Traveling into the village there is a left turning out from Race Farm Lane with, a residential access opposite. Further in there is a Left turning into Frax Close and then a right turning into Oxford Road. The 30 mph restriction starts just before Race Farm Lane but many drivers coming into the village ignore it until the flashing sign at Frax Close and then often keep travelling above the limit. When leaving the village the majority of vehicles are exceeding the limit by the time the round the blind bend. It seems that once the first part of the village has passed the accelerator is automatically squeezed. The limit needs extending further out of the village with cameras in place to police the road and more signage.

My children went to this nursery and turning out of the driveway was often awful due to fast traffic.

I agree and support this petition to reduce the speed limit past the entrance to the school.
