The original intent of the founding fathers was for our elected representatives to hold jobs and not be professional politicians. Also, if monetary gifts (bribery, aka lobbying) are removed from the legislative process, we can once again begin to witness a nation based on freedom for citizens not profits for corporations.

The document has many good points, but there are problems in the United States which go beyond those outlined here. For one thing, morality in the U.S. has declined greatly in the 200 years since the Founders' era. Along with this, the respect for education, basic civility toward one another, the nuclear family unit, and many other stabilizers of society have decayed. A democracy or representative republic can only work if there is an educated, informed citizenry. We have become a socialist nation suffering under the scourge of crony government in collusion with crony capitalism. We could declare a new nation, but until the people return to the values prevalent at the birth of the U.S., I feel that any efforts to turn the country around will fail.
Certain regions of the U.S., particularly the interior, have more traditional, conservative values which more closely match the values needed for a successful representative republic. What may occur, as things get worse (and they will), is the balkanization of the U.S. into separate countries, with both coasts continuing their sinking into socialist statism, and the central States banding together into a renewed United States, following the Founders' intent as codified in the original Constitution and Bill of Rights.
