Hey Everyone,

I have decided to throw my hat in the ring for 2L Dual JD Class Vice President.

I was not a part of last year’s SBA, however I was an executive member of the Windsor Criminal Law Club. I also have experience in holding executive positions from my time in undergrad.

As someone who existed outside of the SBA for the past year, I felt extremely disconnected from the group that was representing us. I understand there was a lot of issues involving the larger SBA and communication. Nevertheless, I felt left out of huge decisions like whether there would be online options for our classes, something most of our class relied on.

Moreover, I am hoping that this coming year we have an SBA that asks for our opinions and feedback first, instead of telling us how they intend to use funding.

This year, I want the SBA to fight for what we need. That includes online class options where they are available, but it also includes broader issues like mental health supports, more career services availability, and clearer communication from the law faculty. Importantly, we also need to know where the tuition that is funding the SBA is being used. We deserve a say in that.

I also want to push the SBA to hold better events for us as a class. Trivia nights, game night, bar nights, even movie nights where we can all come together with a group. Our class is divided into two; online and in-person groups. I know that we would all be better lawyers if we were more connected as individuals, especially as more and more people move in-person.
