  1. Hello, my name is Jimar Cunningham. After careful consideration I have decided to run for President of the 2L’s. This past school year, I was blessed to be voted by the 1L class to hold the position of 1L Vice President. I loved my role as VP and did my absolute best to get to know as many of you as possible and be available for any questions or concerns that you all may have had and still have. As VP I helped facilitate outside school gatherings such as the fall event at the apple orchard and the upcoming bowling event. Also, I helped organize the class sweatshirts for us, as a class, to receive (they should be here soon lol).

My favorite contribution was the organization of the mental health awareness presentation that Marjorie Lang held where she discussed a lot of applicable skills and tools we can use when dealing with stress in law school. My focus has been ensuring my classmates are having the best law school experience in and out of the classroom. I loved working with the class officer board; they have been extremely helpful and kind. In saying this I believe, I can use my experience as VP to transition into my role as President to expand upon the good work the board and I established thus far. Also, I will work to improve on the areas we all wished we could have done better at. I will continue to be someone who you can come to with any ideas or difficulties that you may be having. I am here for all of us to make sure that we have another successful and productive year.

Although a lot of you have had the opportunity to get to know me over the course of the last couple of months, I will still share my background information; I attended Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania but I am originally from Rochester, NY. I graduated in May of 2021. At my time at Gannon University I graduated with a bachelors in Political Science, and obtained a minor in Criminal Justice. Also, at Gannon I was a student athlete playing football. I received many awards for my academic achievements as a student athlete including a four time PSAC scholar-athlete, three-time Academic achievement award winner, and I was also a 2021 inductee into the Chi Alpha Sigma student athlete honor society. Outside of my academic and sports career I was part of many community service projects and an advocacy group that brought important conversations to the campus about important topics that we felt needed to be discussed.
