Petition for Immediate Demolition: 2718 Homestead Duquesne Road

We, the citizens and taxpayers of Munhall and surrounding areas, particularly residents and business owners on Homestead Duquesne Road request that this dangerous house be demolished immediately.

The inside of the house is filled with gang-related graffiti. It has been broken into many times. The copper pipes were removed by thieves about 10 years ago. It is inviting crime into the neighborhood resulting in the copper pipes recently being stolen from a house next door.

This building which is located on a well traveled main road in our borough is extremely dangerous. There are no utilities and the house is completely rotted and filled with mold. Trees are growing out of the roof. The house has been sitting abandoned for 12 years. Taxes have not been paid since 2004. It is unsecured, a fire hazard and a danger to area children who play in the driveway.

It was to be demolished in 2012, but Munhall council made the decision to remove this house from the demolition list.

We request action to take this house down immediately.
