Open letter to St. Stithians and Sally James

Saints need to provide more feedback with respect to these drastic potential changes.

One has to stop all this Marxist based nonsense. There are far more important issues to worry about. The Costitution protects us all ! And we all need to be protected against Marxist CRT, SEL etc.

Gender dysphoria is hell on earth. Don't make it harder for our children with toxic virtue signalling.

The College Council ought to be addressing the questions at their meeting today. We'll see...

Very concerned parent who was convinced Saints will be the high school of choice for my son who is currently attending Pridwin.

Here's the latest from the OSA. I welcome the sentiment. However, I am alert to the possibility that this is part of an effort to delay and hope the hard questions go away. I won't let that happen. Dear One and All, The Old Stithian Association is the steward of the ethos, sustainability and legacy of St Stithians College, its world class facilities and campus which we have the shared privilege of calling, our Alma Mater. We as an association have been approached by Alumni and current Alumni parents to assist in the facilitation and intermediation of issues around the admission of a transitioning student from the Boys College to the Girls College. The issue which was recently raised and discussed online and on social media platforms. It has become apparent to the Old Stithian Association that there are numerous diverse and relevant viewpoints that are being raised. However, there is no clear consensus in relation to these issues from our constituents. Some of these matters have been raised as Agenda items which will be considered by the St Stithians College Council in their next meeting scheduled for 4th August 2022. The Old Stithian Association, and the Chairman specifically has been tasked to act as liaison between the Alumni and the school as the preferred method for facilitating the raising and resolution of Alumni concerns in relation to this issue. In light of this, and in order to fully understand, facilitate and ventilate these issues for and on behalf of our constituent, the Alumni, we are requesting that you share your views with us, by email to our Chairperson, Israel Skosana at [email protected] . WOKE culture is dangerous and divisive in schools. School pupils are too young and inexperienced to critically evaluate many of the policies and are likely to be damaged by them

Too many once-excellent schools are being destroyed in the name of “diversity and transformation”. The destruction must be stopped

Hi folks Apologies for the silence. I have received a letter from Sally James. She advises that the Saints Council will address the 16 questions at their meeting on 4 August. And the advises I deal with OSA chair Israel Skosana on this matter. I find the delay very poor form. These are basic questions. Most ought to have been answered before any policy or decision was even made. That from a simple governance perspective. Others only need a few minutes to write an explanation. That said, I don't think it is worth attempting to get answers any sooner. I acknowledge the request I deal with Skosana from now on. But it is only a request. Other people are following official avenues and bureaucratic processes. That is necessary. But the stance I have taken is that we also need an unofficial angle. Exclusively waiting for meetings and begging for time with decision makers is not enough. That will only fuel hushed chatter in parking lots. It will delay things interminably. These are urgent matters. As always, I welcome input and ideas on how to progress. Ian

I have met with Sally James, two members of the Old Stithian Association and the head of transformation. The details are confidential. I can report that we are agreed that the best interests of the school are what matter. I will continue to engage with the relevant people to find answers to the 16 questions. Those present at the meeting will play their respective roles. I remain committed and hopeful. Obtaining clarity is a necessary step for the policies to be evaluated.

I'm pleased to say that I have arranged to meet with Sally James on Friday morning. She has also invited the school's head to transformation and two members of the OSA. I'll report back here.

Hi Ian, is there a reason this is not extended to all parents? The school should make this an open invitation surely?

I’m concerned about the safety of my daughters and also the fairness of sport and competition. I’m all for inclusivity but not at the expense of safety and fairness.

I'm very pleased to have received a reply from Sally James. She has invited me to come through and meet with her and a few other people who represent Saints and the OSA. That should happen next week. I look forward to it.

Deeply concerned for our school, it's pupils and staff. I feel as a church based school we need to be careful of being swept along by world views.
