Access to 2010 olympic flame--take down the fence!
Thousands of people from Vancouver and all over the world are travelling to the site of the 2010 olympic torch, only to find it fenced off. For security reasons the general public is forced to view the olympic torch through the chain-linked fence. We are outraged that this olympic symbol is right at our doorstep, but we are not allowed to experience the joy of seeing it up close, or even taking a picture with it. This is an embarassment to us in front of the world. We are a free country, but are still stuck behind a fence to view the Olympic flame. The flame symbolizes the principles of peace, brotherhood and friendship, but the fence contradicts this message. There are alternative ways to ensure security of the flame, and keep the visitors of the Olympics happy. This is a petition to make our voices heard; that we want to view the torch without the view of a fence in front of us.
