I do not think one more penny should be spend on new or expanded prisons in Massachusetts. Use all of that money to support jobs, education, health care and housing for families in underserved and marginalized communities.

Jobs and Opportunity are sorely needed vs any new Prison Cells. A Life is what you allow one to make of it, and what a person dreams of after having made mistakes. Not a return to Draconian measures. Steal one's dreams and he'll be sure to fill a cell.

Putting this money into jobs leads to more public safety and wellbeing. Putting it into prisons leads to a demand for more prisoners, inciting injustice.

The American prison systems as it currently functions is modern slavery. Jail is now the furthest thing from justice. It is time the tables are turned. So excited to be a part of this desperately needed initiative. Thank you to everyone who brought this plea to light.

Please we need to turn things around. Building more jails and prisons is not the answer--in fact, it is destroying our communities and our country. We need to invest in job creation and education. We are depending on you to take the lead.

Massachusetts must catch up to and surpass states in the South and West that are ahead of us in redirecting these wasted justice resources. End Prison Slavery and the new Jim Crow!
