Dan Richards President of Fish and Game Commission has not broken any laws and should not be censured, penalized, or be removed from his office as President of Fish and Game Commission for taking advantage of an American right and privilege. Due to private interest groups uproar certain assemblyman are putting Dan Richards in a position of censorship. It is Fish and Games Mission Statement to support our rights to hunt and manage game in a way that sustains populations. Hunters pay license fees to support Fish and Game and their efforts to manage wildlife. Hunter Fee’s also pay for habitat rehabilitation and resources. Working for Fish and game and being a hunter isn't a crime. It is actually a benefit. Hunters want to promote resources and rehabilitation. In that way we can support our resources and manage wildlife for future generations. While Private interests and Anti hunters don't like hunting, it is Hunters money that is paying for our wildlife to flourish. We don't see the humane society and other anti hunting private interest groups pouring their money into extensive wildlife and habitat studies, rehabilitating habitat, managing fisheries, and countless other items that hunter fee's pay for. Facts are that California has one of the largest Lion populations. Furthermore it is private interest groups that have helped prevent Mountain Lion hunts in California resulting in lost live stock in rural areas, attacks on the public, heavy predation on on wildlife, and loss of revenue they could have had issuing tags for hunts. Fish and game has to respond and issue numerous depredation hunts for problem lions on a regular basis using hunters license fees and tax dollars instead of creating revenue for tags the could have issued for Lions. Don’t let private interest groups run our country.
