I believe parking refund/reduction is not as fair as a rent reduction, because not everyone has cars at university village, yet we all have to endure the construction noise and smell and we also had to walk way out of our way to the make shift bus stop for a month.....

I agree that we should be refunded for our parking. We pay a lot of money to park here (and to live here!), and it has been a huge inconvenience. The construction has greatly interfered with parking, getting to class, and has been very loud. I am extremely frustrated that we were not notified before signing our leases.

The fact that we were not notified about the extent of the construction and the inconveniences that it would cause BEFORE we signed to live here is unacceptable. Even more unacceptable is the fact that no construction was done over the summer when fewer people were living here. Overall poor planning from whoever was in charge. The fact that the new parking lot is open now is a band-aid fix to a surgical problem, as that only truly benefits the two buildings that are closest to it. Overall, I agree the most appropriate course of action would be to allow students to drop their housing agreements for the next semester, or to offer a rent reduction because living here is truly not as enjoyable and convenient as it used to be (not to mention, again, that we were not notified about the extent of construction in any way!)

I think a partial fund back on parking would be appropriate.
Rent for this apartment is already extremely high. Parking passes are included in most apartments and UV's are already high in price. It has not been easy to find parking near your building and this is not okay for the money we are paying to live here.

I think we should be reimbursed some sort of reduction in rent from the start of this construction to the end of it because it has been a huge inconvenience from the very beginning.

This is unfair for the students to have to live surround by a construction zone. Literally all sides of the complex have construction. How are they supposed to peacefully study with constant banging and vibrations coming from outside?

This is my third year at UV and I feel that I deserve compensation for the drop in quality of living here. The rent and parking permit costs are unreasonable, especially because of the large construction project. Residents at UV are not getting what they signed up for.

This construction is horrible. The smell alone almost made me throw up on my way to class last week. I have been woken up several times throughout the course of this year from the early morning construction. If I would have known about this before signing up to live here I would have considered living elsewhere.

I agree. We were not notified at sign up that this construction would be happening. Not to mention that it is interfering with getting on to campus. I am frustrated that I had to pay that much for parking outside of my own complex and now I can barely get a spot outside of my building. They should have done this project over the summer when fewer people lived here.
