I live in the Meridian Lofts, so am several blocks East of the affected area. It is already difficult to move between Locust St. and Washington Avenue in that area. Closing the street would make the much worse. I am opposed to closing 17th Street and awarding it to this developer.

The proposed street closure is incredibly short-sighted. City planning should be done by city planners, not through special deals between alderpeople and developers.
