WE NEED A TRAFFIC STUDY because this ABSOLUTELY will make a bigger mess of these intersections than they already are.

I am a Wellsley resident and I strongly agree that the current unprotected U-turn at Cranborne & High House Rd. is unsafe. Additional traffic will exacerbate that issue. We need a traffic study.

Do not forget the additional traffic during rush hours coming from Hwy 540 and Green Level Road.

A bit of background: - On some version of the site plans for the already approved rezoned parcels on House South and High House North (14-REZ-05 and 15-SB-008), there is a cut-out at the front of the two new subdivisions between Cranborne/Sir Walker and Highway 55 (need to confirm if this will actually be done). - The 12 units (of the 109) of 15-REZ-23 is the tipping point, but we must take careful thought in making the applicant (who are our neighbors, The Young Family) have a (paid) traffic study be a requirement in the rezoning when their request is a fraction of an existing traffic problem, and more significant, the overwhelming, already approved High House South and High House North (Ashborne Subdivision). - The Youngs’ agent, Mr. Tom Hankins, is helping us, and has spoken to the Cary Town Council and staff in support of our desire for a traffic study (and facilitated talks with NCDoT – the authority over High House Road). - We are getting good headway for potential traffic solutions…independent of 15-REZ-23.

We already are in preliminary meetings with the Town of Cary Traffic Management Division to talk about the higher level concerns about the current and future traffic issues in the area. This is in preparation for future meeting(s) with additional Town of Cary staff and Cary Town Council Meeting - Public Speaks Out, respectively, which will bring all the residents of Berkeley, Wellsley, Somerset and Hadley Place (and, possibly, Cornerstone Presbyterian Church) to have your individual and collective voices be heard. In these first meetings, the town staff has asked us to express specific and detailed input regarding your traffic concerns. I will pull your comments for the Next Door and i-Petition posts, and if you can send me further comments at [email protected], it would be a great help! Thanks!

Volume here is needed to get the Town to do a traffic study and come up with safe solution for our drivers and pedestrians along High House.

It is already extremely difficult to make left turns out of Wellesley and Berkeley. These new developments will surely make matters worse.

I agree with Dan Christoff, we need more than a study, we need solutions!

We need careful study and smart planning for growth. Our family recently bought in Wellsley because we believe this area was already developed. Traffic is already challenging, and I am concerned about the pockets of building that are going on around this area without thought to school capacity (already overtaxed) and traffic congestion. Any and all evaluations and studies should be done for this area and for any mushrooming developments around the already developed areas of Cary. The already existing community in this area should have thoughtful input.

The 109 new homes (109 includes the 12 in this newest parcel along with the two other parcels previously approved along High House) will be an immediate impact, but the traffic is only going to worsen as areas west of 55 are developed. We need a study and solutions now if we residents of Cary are to get in front of this issue.

Yes, we need a traffic study. But please don't stop there. We need more that a study. We need implemented solutions to improve safety along this section of High House. In addition to the problems described in the petition the left hand turn off Jenks Carpenter west onto High House has very poor visibility of west bound High House traffic due to the design of the intersection in conjunction with the bridge.

We just moved here recently into Berkeley and had no idea how difficult it would be getting in and out if here..it will be a nightmare if they don't assess the traffic issue..

With the volume of traffic increasing multi-folds (due to 540 connectivity), High House (near 55/Wellsley) is already under stress! We need to get this study done to before this becomes a "danger" zone intersection.

Please consider conducting this study. It really does seem like these individual developments snuck under the threshold, but in aggregate it should be clear that a study is needed. Do not let this type of a loophole make an already treacherous traffic situation much worse.

Traffic study is absolutely necessary. These intersections are already dangerous !

We have enough trouble pulling out of Wellsley now - with the u turn neighbors - the added stress on this new subdivision will really increase accidents!

I would appreciate it if the Town of Cary would reconsider the repercussions of this larger development and have a traffic study done before final approval.

Absolutely needed. High House has become a dangerous road.
