The striped bass fishery in Long Island Sound is suffering and I fully support this and even more stringent approaches. Quotas should also be enforced at both the private and charter/party level. Every time a body of fish moves into an area, they are ravaged by countless anglers and before you know it, you've decimated a potential migration. It's time to be more strict in the short term for greater sustainability in the future.

We have to begin somewhere and the 1at 32" gives a fish hopefully at least two shots at spawning. Who can argue against reducing the two fish take to ONE? A 50% reduction in take will increase the fishery's total numbers,too.

"Those Who Do Not Learn History Are Doomed To Repeat It." We need coastal reduction in the harvest of Striped Bass. 1 bass at a minimum of 32" is a starting point. An inclusive coastal regulation structure needs to be implemented throughout the migration routes of the Striped Bass. I pray that we do not have another collapse of this valuable resource as we did in the 80’s.

This species of fish is severely pressured and we ask the powers that be carefully review the status of this fish and it's impact on the fishery. It is severely over fished and we are concerned that striped bass will face another decline similar to the one in the 1980's. This is not something to sit on as many dollars are tied to this fish and the economy is positively impacted by the sportsmen and women who persue this species.

The need for a significant reduction in striped bass harvest is needed both commercially and recreationally. Also regulations need to be unified for all states as opposed to different regulations for states.
