We, the tenants of 106 Pinehurst Avenue in New york City, are complaining about the outbreak of cockroaches in this building since Spring. The basement laundry room is particularly afflicted. Not only are cockroaches found to be crawling around the floor and garbage areas, but they are regularly encountered crawling around on the elevator door and inside the washing machines. Complaints have been verbalized to the superintendent and we have waited patiently to see if the problem will abate but it's been several months now and it hasn't gotten any better. The number of cockroaches in our basement is above and beyond what we, as New Yorkers, are accustomed to tolerate. The conditions of this building have noticeably deteriorated in the last year as far as cleanliness is concerned. We consider this environment to be highly unsanitary.
