Brief

With recent contract changes affecting thousands of Tesco workers, there is no better time to try and change who controls the actions taken against wages,contracts etc.

At the moment we have 12 National Forum Reps who represent and negotiate contract changes for the thousands of Tesco Usdaw members and also the thousands of Non-Usdaw members. They have protected workers throughout this process over the years and many thanks go to them, but as with everything in life we need small but significent changes now and again.

We can't change what Tesco has to offer it workers ,as they maintain a "pot" which is available for these talks. However we may have better control over it. I propose that we get each Usdaw Rep to vote on these issues instead of the 12 that currently do. Staff propose the Reps in store and what greater people to have as our voice. These maintain the communication for the workers and are in the best position to vote on there fellow workers behalf.

What can we do?

Using the forum process we can post a recommendation that contract/wage changes be voted on by the collective of Reps instead of the 12 National Forum Reps. Also we can show our strength by signing this petition and forwarding this to the National Forum.
