They are a part of the fabric of the city. They help the poor ans the old. The poor can't afford to ride the MTR. The poor and old have time not money. So rich people can drive their cars...... Hong should implement ways to reduce cars not make easier.

The tram is one of my favorite modes of transportation to and from Central. It's economical and reliable, and is the best choice during rush hour. I can't imagine why anyone would want to cancel the tram path.
There are better ways to alleviate congestion around that area. For a start, how about strictly enforcing illegal parking by those hideous 7 seaters? Introduce congestion/toll charges? The idea is to lower the amount of private cars on the road, not encourage more!
Trams are more environmental friendly and we should save them.

The best transportation in town: not slow when you consider how far you walk in the MTR including stairs and escalators, better than arrogant taxi drivers, door to door service with a view and no bad attitude. Get rid of the taxis and free up the roads for the trams. Also they don't pollute like taxis. Remember history: what happened when the fares were raised on the people's transpiration? What do you think will happen if you try to take away completely the people's transportation?

I considered that tram is a more efficient means of transport deal to it mass transit nature and it's capacity to move a much larger number of people at the same time as compared other form of automobile. Beside, the tram is also frequently used by tourists, not because of its speed but the unique culture and history tied to it, just like the San Francisco cable, it serves a historical purpose.

你這位規劃師, 是目光短淺? 還是無知? 剛剛上星期在英國旅遊期間, 經歷因倫敦地鐵全線罷工, 因而巴士班次需要大增以應付需要, 當天我還在市內觀光四處看看, 見到多輛舊式的英國雙層巴士竟然還在2015年的倫敦街上正式服務, 感覺就好像回到兒時一樣!! 在英國旅遊2個星期, 感覺英國的的確確就和以往港英殖民地時期的香港一樣, 人沒現在的自私, 也多了一份包容。 英國就是一個重視歷史的國家, 很多幾百甚至上千年的歷史仍舊保留著, 甚至仍然在每天的生活中運行著, 老舊的雙層巴士, 在英國街道上接載遊客看看現代倫敦的古舊馬車, 仍然會四處巡邏的騎警, 皇宮, 堡壘, 大笨鐘⋯⋯ 這些所有應該在這位規劃師眼中應該都是「抱殘守缺」⋯⋯ 但我卻認為每個國家, 城市都是因著歷史才變得吸引, 因為歷史才能變得更成熟, 更強。而且歷史不一定是活在過去的。 看看倫敦, 沒有太多吸引人的美食, 生活指數也極高, 卻每天因著這個活歷史, 吸引多少從世界各地而來的遊客!! 雖然旅遊經驗不多, 但短短兩星期的倫敦之旅, 卻更令我深刻體會香港今天在位掌權的人在掌管香港時所帶來種種問題的原因⋯⋯ 我讀得唔多書, 亦不是規劃師；3棵大樹容不下, 電車容不了, 且看多了1/3行車線能為香港帶來多少額外收益, 也看看消滅了歷史的香港還剩下多少來吸引遊客吧! 香港人⋯ 是時候醒了!!!
HK Tram - worth to keep!
香港已經被搞到完全無特色，所有商場都係一式一樣既店舖，旅遊景點就只有幾個，如果話香港依靠旅遊業，必須保留香港特色既嘢，電車便是其中之一，起碼日本，泰國，韓國較為常去既旅遊地方已經冇，香港電影電視亦喜歡取景於電車，外國人見到電車就知呢個地方叫香港

電車仍大眾交通工具，一架電車足以乘載數十人，中環交通擠塞只因的士私家車太多，減少交通擠塞因鼓勵市民乘搭公共交通工具。哪估問公司有此提議實在是本末倒置o
