This test needs to be changed. Great teachers are going to be turned away because of senseless obstacles like this. Our degree should be enough.

Tests need to be authentic to truly assess learning and abilities. Multiple choice tests given in one moment of time only assess a small regurgitated bit of information at that one moment; the OAE only does that. It does not fully assess prospective educator's full breadth of knowledge, skills, or abilities in that sense. Your written response proposal would be an authentic task and would provide true assessment of a pre-service teacher's skills and abilities for research and knowledge.

Tests are very unfair. Have wasted $100s and my future has been put on hold.

This really needs to be changed. The OAE for Social Studies has way too much information required to be an expert on, and the test is very random and disconnected.
