Students are expected to spend hundreds of dollars on uniforms, yet we're still required to buy specific black socks despite cheaper and more comfortable alternatives existing. Thick black socks are uncomfortable, especially in warm weather, and banning white socks serves no real purpose except to continue boiling our feet. It's an unnecessary rule that prioritises appearance over student comfort, and I'm not sure that's what Avonside wants to be known for.

In my personal opinion, white socks look more tidy and formal going along with the avonside uniform. Im sure the whole school agrees to have this change, white socks do not have any affect on anyone personally, so why is this such a problem that we just want to wear different color socks, a piece of fabric.

I find it unreasonable that we are not allowed to wear the socks and shoes of our choice. We already have to wear an uncomfortable uniform, and I think restricting our choice of socks and shoes is unnecessary and excessive. We should at least be allowed some freedom to choose comfortable footwear that suits our preferences while still following the uniform requirements.
