We, the undersigned players and supporters of EA SPORTS FC Mobile, respectfully call on EA SPORTS to take meaningful action against excessive time-wasting and defensive back-passing in competitive Head-to-Head matches, particularly in major tournaments and high-level competition.

Recent competitive matches have highlighted a serious issue: once a player takes the lead, it can be possible to repeatedly circulate the ball between defenders and the goalkeeper, making it extremely difficult for the opponent to win the ball back despite applying pressure and using the available tactical options.

This is not about blaming or attacking individual players. If the game mechanics allow this strategy to be consistently effective, players will naturally use it to win. The responsibility ultimately lies with the game design and competitive rules.

The problem becomes particularly serious when this behaviour appears in major tournaments. Competitive matches at the highest level should demonstrate the best of FC Mobile — skill, tactics, decision-making and football intelligence — rather than rewarding prolonged possession in one’s own defensive third with little effective counter-play.

Many players have invested substantial amounts of time, effort and money into building their squads, learning the game and competing fairly. We believe these players deserve a competitive environment where their investment and genuine gameplay skills can actually make a difference.

We ask EA SPORTS to:

1. Introduce an effective anti-time-wasting mechanism for excessive passing between defenders and the goalkeeper.
2. Improve the effectiveness of pressing and defensive AI so that players have a realistic and skill-based way to regain possession.
3. Consider an automatic clearance or turnover mechanism when a player repeatedly circulates the ball in their own defensive area for an unreasonable period.
4. Establish clear competitive rules regarding excessive time-wasting, especially for official tournaments.
5. Provide a reporting mechanism for unsportsmanlike gameplay, including deliberate and excessive time-wasting.
6. Ensure that tournament gameplay rewards genuine football skill, rather than allowing game mechanics to be exploited in a way that effectively removes meaningful counter-play.

We are not asking EA to eliminate defensive football or tactical possession. Holding the ball, passing backwards and protecting a lead are legitimate aspects of football.

The issue is when the game mechanics allow this behaviour to become effectively impossible to counter.

EA SPORTS FC Mobile is built around competition. Competition only works when both players have a meaningful opportunity to play, respond and compete.

We therefore ask EA SPORTS to review these mechanics and implement a fair, transparent solution that protects the competitive integrity of FC Mobile.

We invest in this game because we love it. We want to compete because we love football. Please give us a game where skill — not an exploitable mechanic — decides the result.
