I am an unemployed qualified educator with B.Ed + SACE registration, yet I cannot get placement in public schools. This is because of 3 main issues:
1. Ghost teachers: Over 22,000 fake teachers are still on the DOE payroll, blocking real posts for qualified graduates.
2. Selling of teaching posts: Posts are sold instead of being given on merit. Qualified youth are forced to pay bribes they cannot afford.
3. No transparency: DOE does not publish vacancy lists + appointment criteria.
