Talisman is part of the valley's history. I think refurbishing the building is a great idea. There could be so many different uses for it.

The main building is in good shape and could be repurposed. The other buildings should go.

My dad and I help build some of talisman.we stoned the fireplaces in the base lodge and all the hotel rooms we also helped block the elevator shaft and games room in the main hotel. I also started as a janitor in the base lodge when I was 15 from there I went outside maintenance where I learned how to make snow and ran the night shift so many memories and friends I met there its sad to see it destroyed

Talisman has been part of my life since it opened I 1962. I skied with my sons there for at least17 years. The main building is spectacular, we need a hotel/spa in the community. It should be preserved and brought back to life

Alternative usage should be fully explored before adding to a landfill. It would better align with an environmental goal for the BTC and then get my donation dollars. I suspect others that have lived in the valley would then better support it too. Only makes sense to slow down and listen to the people with the longest standing history in the area instead of barging ahead with demolition and destruction.

Lets find a way to repurpose the main building. If done right, it could support hiking the Bruce Trail with a place to stay overnight and eat. It could also benefit Kimberley and Grey HIghlands.

Buildings are worth saving, repurposing and adding economic activity and sustainable tax base for Village of Kimberly, On.

I have many fond memories of Talisman and feel it would be beneficial to retain the original Lodge as an historical site a potential repurposed museum type lodge. Plus my family also learned to ski and snow board there. Like most Talismanians I spent 30 years meeting life long friends there.

Talisman is always the best way to describe to some one you just met where one lives. Not the nearby villages or towns or even Beaver Valley. Loosing this landmark would be regrettable to the valley and a loss to Grey Highlands as a whole.

My kids learned to ski at Talisman. At one point my Wufe and two of my children and I all volunteered to provide first aid on the hill with the Canadian Ski Patrol at Talisman. I was a volunteer patroller for 15 years. All three of my kids grew up at Talisman and took part in ski racing with the Kimberley Ski Club at Talisman. We cherish many fond memories of Talisman and especially the main hotel building. Please try to preserve it as a community center perhaps. Talisman Forever!

Great memories there for many people. Nice character buildings, particularly the main lodge. Tragic waste to spend millions to tear them down.

Some (or all) of the Talisman buildings could be repurposed to enhance our community, while still allowing the vast majority of the property to be rewilded. The Bruce Trall could sell the buildings, avoid the cost of demolition, and use all those millions to purchase many times those few acres elsewhere. The community retains a treasured asset, continued taxes, and employment opportunities. And the many millions recently spent on the hotel won't go to waste. Seems like trying is a no brainer!!

It would be a shame to have such a lovely building, which has been at least partly rehabilitated, be demolished. There are other things it could be used for which would also bring business to Kimberly.

My grandparents lived in Talisman estates for many years. During that time I have great childhood memories of walks around the property and during winter we would participate in the tubing activities and other events.
Great memories there! I still love the traditional Austria style ski lodge. Hopefully it can be used and for some some purpose such as an outdoor education centre.

I agree that the main lodge should be saved and refurbished for visitors/ hikers and be encouraged to share in the beauty of the Beaver Valley.

The main ski lodge built in the 50s should be saved. The hotel extension and day lodge can go.

This is a place where memories were made. Bring it back to further continue new memories or a learning and nature centre.
