This show is a prime example of how Netflix, and the entertainment industry as a whole has been constantly releasing products of deteriorating quality. They virtue signal without know what their own audience, nor the one they pander to, even wants. Not to mention the fact that genuinely good shows get canceled to give bullshit like Big Mouth another season. In conclusion: Remember the Velma show? Me neither.

I’m supporting this petition because I believe the film’s portrayal of “Straight White Maliens” as the main villains is unnecessarily reductive and sends a poor message. Criticism of sexism or misogyny is completely fair, but I don’t think it needs to be tied to someone’s race or sexual orientation. I hope Netflix will reconsider keeping the film on its platform.
