Taxes are too high here - we (as our neighbors ALREADY HAVE) move. Shame it’s come to this.

Leadership and better fiscal responsibility with tax payer money is important.

This tax will very much harm small businesses which are the backbone of our community. As stated by another signer, this tax (1) increases prices to consumers, (2) taxes the business even when it does not make a profit, (3) will force businesses (especially small businesses) to close, (4) will encourage taxpayers to move. As a life long resident and likely the oldest active small business owner, I have witnessed businesses leaving or not choosing Stafford due to regulations and taxes.

Gross receipts taxes are one of the most damaging taxes out there. They discourage investment and harm the economy.

The Stafford County government is taxing its residence to the point that is almost undesirable to live here or to spend the money here.

The Stafford Board of Supervisors increase in property taxes this year was a wake-up call. The BPOL tax is a clarion call. ENOUGH! Don't "Fairfax" Stafford County. Also, for the Board of Supervisors, election day 2029 can't come soon enough...

We pay too much tax and are taxed on everything we buy and own.

Successful business owners are already taxed through the nose. We have kept our business in Stafford County because it does NOT have BPOL. We will look to move our business to another county if this is passed.

8/17/2026 Every tax should include a sunset date that automatically activates once its original purpose has been achieved. The current proposed tax lacks both a expiration date and resident voter validation. I am already taxed enough; there should be no additional taxes. Instead, current taxes must be reduced, government spending must be cut, and existing revenues must be reprioritized. Why do people choose taking other people's hard earned money is the answer?

We are taxed enough. We don’t need more income, we need more efficient spending.
