We ask the eating disorder program to stop playing Kids Bop and KBF during meals, because it is making our time at treatment harder and more stressful.
Meals are already a difficult part of recovery. We come to this program to get support, build healthier habits, and learn how to finish our food with as much calm and dignity as possible. Instead, the constant Kids Bop and KBF music adds another layer of pressure. For many of us, it feels distracting, childish, and overwhelming at a time when we need a peaceful setting and a steady routine.
A meal environment should help people feel grounded enough to eat. When the room feels tense, loud, or uncomfortable, it becomes harder to focus on the food in front of us and harder to complete meals. That affects the whole purpose of the program. We deserve a space that supports recovery, not one that makes us feel more stressed.
We are asking the program to stop playing Kids Bop and KBF during meals and choose a calmer, more respectful alternative, or no music at all if that works better. Small changes in the environment can make a real difference. Please listen to the people using the program and help make meals less stressful, so we can focus on the support we came here to receive.
