Thank you for the opportuniy to bring forward our concerns, we need your informed support to continue to shape and sustain our commitments, to our patients, communities, families, and to ourselves. So far our direct communication with the board is limited, there may be more clarity and resolution by working together differently. Complex, emerging issues, important and urgent, require a voice for all stakeholders to create real, functional solutions. Please give us and LifeLong a chance!

LifeLong providers desperately need better staffing ratios, scheduling workflows, and pay in order do our jobs well, sustainably, and safely! We are on the ground daily, seeing the impact that these preventable, institutional shortfalls have on our patients and on us. Please help us advocate for our patients, and for our ability to keep doing this work.

Lifelong has lost so many excellent providers to burnout and people moving on for reasonable wages that keep pace with the high cost of living. Patients are unhappy at the lack of continuity of care. Let’s reverse this trend and reward hard work with fair wages.

I believe in the mission of Lifelong and hope to build a meaningful career here. Please don’t push us to burnout and force us to get jobs elsewhere.

Both providers and patients are relying on the Board to ensure the sustainability of not only clinic operations but also our relationships with the communities we serve. When provider pay doesn't keep up with cost of living or staffing levels compromise access, people leave. Achieving a fair contract is a vital part of making sure providers can continue caring for the patients that rely on them.

The proposed pay increase is abysmal and an insult to providers who come to lifelong to advocate the mission of providing care across all barriers. The amount proposed is not sustainable to the already below the market rates paid to providers. The promotion of such a tiny wage increase while increasing productivity is a sure way to exhausting currents providers and thereby losing them. This needs to be a symbiotic relationship between providers and lifelong for the longevity of the organization.

Fair pay is essential to reducing clinician burnout and ensuring patients receive consistent, high-quality behavioral health care. When providers feel valued and adequately compensated, we are better able to remain in our roles, be fully present with our patients, and provide the continuity of care our community deserves. Investing in fair pay is an investment in both clinician well-being and better patient outcomes.

Providers at Lifelong are passionate about community health and work extremely hard to care for our patients and advocate for them. That’s what keeps the spirit of Lifelong going strong all these years!
Reasonable workloads and fair pay to accommodate Bay Area living shouldn’t be “extras” that we need to fight this much for.

Providers at LifeLong deserve fair compensation for the excellent, high quality care we provide our patients and community every day. Lack of fair compensation leads to burnout, and the major discrepancy between LifeLong’s wages compared to nearby FQHCs (e.g. La Clinica, Alameda Health System, Native American Health Center etc) greatly impacts provider retention. It does not make sense to stay working at LifeLong if we can do similar work elsewhere and be treated better. We need our needs met.

Our patients deserve quality care from dedicated providers who are able to see working at LifeLong as a sustainable career, not a stepping stone. I’ve seen too many good providers leave due to burnout, finding more supportive workloads, pay and benefits elsewhere. We can’t do more with less.
