I agree to the cause. I am currently at the park getting a sunburn as I am signing this. It is all worth it for my fur baby, but shade would definitely help us stay out here longer and be more comfortable.

As dog parents, it’s crucial for us and the community to ensure that puppies have a cool and restful environment during hot or summer days. This allows them to relax and recharge while their parents are more inclined to bring their pets to the dog park, knowing that they’ll have access to shade. I believe adding more seating would be an amazing addition!

It’s important as a dog owner that other dogs get some shade as I always think of it because as many dog owners know frenchies are prone to high temperatures just for them to be out for 5 mins on high temperatures is dangerous for them as for many dogs out there.

I have lived with my dogs in College Park for over 12 years and we are frequent dog park visitors. My husky loves to run and sniff and play. Though the trees are lovely, they are a species with minimal canopy density and are not sufficient shade. It is getting hotter every year, having been born and raised in this area, there is no denying the oppressive heat and dangerous UV index has grown exponentially over the years.
This idea to add a shade structure is AMAZING and very much needed.
