I walk along Padaro Lane almost every day. The idea of all the trees that will have to be removed will impact the iconic feel of this area forever. I cannot imagine an idling diesel train next to the road, in place of the trees. Please rethink this!

I own 3493 Padaro Lane. The reason I purchased the property was due to the peaceful nature of the property as well as the local habitat. I frequently bike the area and see not only my fellow homeowners, but the community at large enjoying the area.
To destroy the habitat to build a siding for a railroad system that is rarely used, seems counter intuitive.
Therefore, I vote to save the environment and habitat.

I'm a manager of Guston's Properties, LLC located at 3493 Padaro Lane. That beach is a slice of heaven with the natural habitats and peacefulness that not only homeowners but the general public enjoy.
We are already fighting the smells associated with the cannabis grow fields.
Please save our slice of heaven on earth.

These objections are important. But additionally the County & RR project will not solve their stated problem. The new freeway largely solves it. Many previous attempts to get commuters to ride trains to SB have failed. Many free tickets failed. Working men & women need their vehicles to carry materials to sites. CCSB & UCSB & government employees could, but dont use. Why not try various size buses with multiple stops using high speed lane?

Loss of 100 mature trees and surrounding vegetation will impact wildlife habitat, erosion control, carbon storage, shade and scenic value impacting all the people who today enjoy walking, bike riding and bird watching along this designated coastal trail.

We live here. Children / Pets . This is terrible for the environment. The smell and danger this brings to all of us is unexceptable. The sea live. Loosing the trees should not be done.
This is a community that needs to be preserved in every way. These trains are a danger to be this close to our homes.

The Padaro Lane siding project risks sacrificing irreplaceable coastal habitat, mature trees, and scenic resources for infrastructure that could facilitate increased rail traffic and industrialization of a uniquely beautiful and sensitive shoreline environment used by thousands annually.
The project has not adequately demonstrated that less damaging alternatives have been exhausted or the need for more rail passenger travel is justification for this costly project at the tax payers expense.
