Following a serious spinal cord injury, yoga and BodyBalance have become an important/ affordable part of my rehab, providing an alternative to expensive physiotherapy. I also value the inclusive environment, particularly the strong male participation in group fitness, which I haven’t found at other gyms. Although I occasionally use the weights and sauna, group fitness is my main reason for attending. If the studio closes, I will be moving to another gym.

I've recently joined Club Lime swapping from another major gym chain and reason remains the variety of group fitness classes. ANU is where I found a community, made friends already and very quickly it became my absolute favourite for the week. Being a founder member from when ANU club lime was first built, this has come as a major disappointment. I'm happy to travel the distance for the right instructors and group fitness. This decision should be reconsidered.

My Zumba clases Monday, Tuesday and Saturday are part of my routine. I don’t think this is a good idea and I’m quite mad!

The group fitness classes I go to are full, so a lot of members will be losing out. The classes are an important social and health and community hub for a lot of members. There are no group fitness studios in Braddon or the city Club Lime's, and the recent survey sent out did not consult specifically about group fitness classes, so the feedback that members want more machines didn't consider members who want to do the group fitness classes.

I really disappointed to hear about this changes and the closure of the group fitness classes. These classes are much more than just physical health. They are also important for mental health, wellbeing and social connections. Group fitness classes are an important part of the gym, and they should offer them. I really hope Club Lime and ANU reconsider this decision.

I switched from another major gym chain to Club Lime ANU specifically for its group fitness classes, convenient location and quality instructors. These were key factors in my decision to join and pay for membership. Discontinuing these classes without meaningful consultation effectively removes a service that members relied on when choosing Club Lime. Group fitness is not an optional luxury; it supports physical and mental health, community engagement, member wellbeing and retention.

Because I love these classes

ANU has increasingly commercialised its precinct. Long gone was the student Refectory that catered to lower income needs. Then came all these higher-end lifestyle products such as Club Lime. Yet now they can't even provide a minimal level of service. Shouldn't ANU Commercial Services be partially held responsible for this? Club Lime has been increasing their membership charges frequently, while not maintaining the facilities and now it's further cutting vital mental and physical health classes.

The club lime group classes are so important for my physical and mental health. How can ANU permit the expulsion of diverse users groups who attend classes with no genuine consultation. Isn't this supposed to be an inclusive campus? Or maybe it doesn't matter when there's profit to be made

The Kambri precinct was built to serve the holistic health and wellbeing of the entire ANU community, not just a high-density weight room. Replacing structured, inclusive group fitness classes with extra gym floor space removes a vital mental and physical health outlet for students and staff. ANU Commercial Services must hold Club Lime to its original commitment and reinstate group fitness.
