I grew up playing CYO since the 3rd grade. It’s important to keep CYO in our community to give kids options and have met and became friends with other CYO kids from other jurisdictions not just in Pacifica!

As a long time St. Peters basketball coach and Religious Education teacher, this news is extremely disappointing. So many people have given their valuable time and energy to keeping the basketball program alive over the past 70 years, all for the sake of the children. Let’s put the children first and work toward a solution.

My children and grandchildren have been part of this program and it is not right others to not be able to participate in CYO at St. Peter’s.
The church does not only serve our religious needs but it’s also part of our community and as such this tradition must continue.

As someone who has coached multiple kids over the past 15 years and having the honor to be apart of the Athletic Committee charged with carrying on the legacy that Bob Harp and Sue Cook built this is extremely heart breaking. The benefits this program has had on the community over the past 7 decades is immeasurable. We implore The Parish to reconsider.

I played CYO from 4th to 8th grade and had so much fun. I always was excited for practices and games. I can’t imagine local kids not having that opportunity.

This is a tragedy for St Peter’s parish and the entire Pacifica community! I pray that there will be a resolution soon for our youth. This basketball program brings so much joy to everyone here. They not only play basketball games, but also at participate at CYO masses and breakfasts. All events I’ve attended began with a moment of reverence & thankful prayer. Isn’t that the goal?
