We, seafarers, know what it means to leave our homes, families and everything familiar behind, and put our lives in the hands of the sea. We sail where the company sends us. We carry the cargo we are instructed to carry. The case of Captain Ajay Pant has touched every seafarer because behind the uniform is a human being — a son, a husband, a father, and a professional mariner. A seafarer is not just a name on a crew list. He is someone's entire world waiting at home.

Seafarers are responsible for maintenence of the ship on which they are sailing. They aren't neither owners of ship not charterer so obviously the don't control where to load or discharge. They shall not be punished for geopolitical differences of various countries. Neither we approve our cargi ships which are unharming to any country, to be attacked by Houti's, Iran, Ukraine, America, Russia nor we support vessels to be arrested by US/ UK while passing through international water.

The Master should not be punished as he was not involved in the politics of any country, he waa carrying out the duties without fear as required by the Owners and Charterers, hence, arresting a Master and keeping him in the custody is not appropriate and must be released soon.

seafarers simply carrying out r professional duties@sea. we just follow de lawful instructions of the Co. & charterers. They hv no control over commercial or chartering decisions. If there are political disputes or sanctions b/w govt such matters should b resolved @de govt-to-govt lvl. We shouldn’t b penalized, sanctioned, or subjected to imprisonment 4 issues beyond our knowledge n control.

This nonsense will never end until all seafarers unite and halt all operations wherever they are simultaneously. The world will come to a grinding halt and THAT is when our issues will come out into the open and be resolved. The biggest culprits in this day are the human rights organisations and shipping company employees.

We seafarers are professionals to maintain economic activities around the globe, without any bias or political affiliations. We operate & manage all aspects of the ship we work on - its safety & efficiency, cargo care and manpower safety, security & welfare. Such incidents should not happen to us, since we do our work as per established International Laws. We must always be protected from any hostile environment (especially in International Waters) by any political blocks.
